Intramural 3 on 3 Basketball


3 on 3 Basketball in Northeastern University's Intramural Sport Department is a popular introduction to the basketball season. Played half court at the Marino Center, 3 on 3 basketball is a fun way to clean off the rust and stay active.

Teams compete for the coveted Intramural Sports Championship, determined by a single elimination tournament at the end of the regular season. With co-rec, open and recreational leagues, 3 on 3 basketball is a sport in which everyone can excel
and enjoy.

With games being half court, teams must bring the ball back beyond the clearing line on every change of possession, creating a competitive match-up on every offensive drive.

Starting with a hit-or-miss 3 pointer, the game will consist of two 15 minute halves with a running clock that stops only in the last 10 seconds of each half. While there is no shot clock, deliberate stalling the game will result in a turnover.

An important rule to remember is that there is absolutely no dunking or hanging on the rim in Intramural Sports. This will lead to an automatic ejection, so it is necessary to remember this at all times.
