If you are eligible to purchase a membership and you fall into the following categories, there is a new procedure to purchase a membership and obtain a Husky Card ID.
Step # 1: Stop by the Marino Center and fill out a “Husky Card Authorization Form”. This form must be filled out by the person purchasing the membership and in the presence of Campus Recreation Staff in 140 Marino Center.
Step # 2: Once the form has been completed, the paperwork will take 2-4 days to process. You will receive an e-mail when the authorization process is complete.
Step # 3: Once you have been contacted, you will need to return to the Campus Recreation Office, 140 Marino Center, to complete the application procedure and pay for your membership. PLEASE BRING A COPY OF THE E-MAIL WHEN YOU RETURN TO THE MARINO CENTER.
Please note: You cannot pay for a membership until the “Husky Card Authorization Form” has been processed and a new NU-ID number is issued.
Northeastern University full-time benefit-eligible faculty and staff who have paid the annual NU Recreation Membership Fee may purchase a membership for their spouse, spousal equivalent and any dependents who are 18 years of age, or older. A fee will be assessed in order to utilize the Marino Recreation Center, the Cabot Center, and the Badger & Rosen SquashBusters Center. A Northeastern photo ID will be issued at Student Central, entitling the individual access to the Marino Recreation Center and the Badger & Rosen SquashBusters Center: Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 10:00am; all open hours on Saturday, Sunday and school holidays. During the summer semesters, individuals will have access during all open hours. Admittance to the facility will be denied to anyone without a current, valid NU Husky Card photo ID.
Individuals must meet the criteria below to be eligible. Once eligibility has been verified, a payment authorization form will be issued by the Campus Recreation Office. Payment must be made at the Campus Recreation Office, 140 Marino Center. Payment can be made by cash (exact change), personal check, Master Card, Visa, Discover Card or American Express. The fee is non-transferable and non-refundable. In the event of a faculty/staff member leaving the university, facility privileges will not extend beyond their employment termination date, and the same will apply to their spouse/spousal equivalent/dependents membership.

You are allowed to invite a guest, but must accompany the guest while in the facility. Only one guest per day is allowed, your guest must be 18 years old or older. The guest fee is $12.00 per visit. You must register your guest at least one day in advance, phone reservations will be allowed, for up to one week in advance. All guests must have a valid driver’s license or government issued photo identification with address and proof of age.
Please help us maintain a safe and secure environment by presenting your NU photo ID upon arrival, by locking your possessions in a locker, by keeping your locker key with you at all times and notifying the staff if you see something out of the ordinary. We cannot be held responsible for lost items.
Any individual that allows another person to use their Northeastern University ID Card, as well as the individual that uses another person’s Northeastern University ID Card, to gain access to the Marino Center, the Cabot Center , and the Badger & Rosen SquashBusters Center, will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR) and/or Public Safety. Access to all facilities will be immediately suspended to all individuals involved, until the following day, pending further action by Public Safety or OSCCR.
Locks, towels and equipment must be checked out with your NU photo Husky identification card. You are responsible for all equipment that you check-out and must reimburse Northeastern University for any lost or damaged equipment before your ID is returned. There is no overnight use of equipment or lockers. All locks and equipment must be returned by closing. Items left in lockers overnight will be removed and stored for one week. Do not use personal locks, they will be removed.
The safety of all participants who use the recreation facilities is our highest priority. No food, beverages, gym bags, shopping bags, luggage, brief cases, backpacks, street shoes, boots, open-toe shoes, sandals, jeans, cargo pants or jackets are allowed above the ground floor at the Marino Center and in activity areas in the other recreation buildings. Bicycles and skateboards are not allowed inside the buildings. Roller blades may be carried into the Marino Center and used during designated hours in designated areas only. Proper work-out attire must be worn in all public areas, with the exception of the locker rooms.
Participation in programs sponsored by the Campus Recreation Office and the use of the recreational facilities is strictly voluntary. Participants are responsible for their own health and safety and are cautioned to participate according to the limits determined by their physician and their knowledge of their own health status.
Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in loss of facility privileges. Northeastern University reserves the right to put into effect any new guidelines that protect the health, safety and integrity of the participants using the facility. The Campus Recreation Office adheres to the guidelines, policy’s and procedures as outlined in the Undergraduate and Graduate Student Handbook and The Northeastern Administrative Manual.
