The Campus Recreation Fitness Department interviews and trains potential personal trainer candidates each semester throughout the year through our Personal Trainer in Training Class. All prospective employees for this position must take this introductory class which covers the content of various certification exams, anatomy, physiology, exercise technique, and how exercise affects the body.

The class is set up as a competitive interview process for students wishing to work for Campus Recreation and is divided into three phases throughout a 10-12 week period. Upon successful completion of the first two phases of the personal training class; candidates are then hired to begin their Trainer in Training period while they attain a nationally accredited certification.

The next class will begin on January 29, 2013 at 6:45pm.


Classes will meet one evening per week.

Note: There is no fee for the class, but candidates will be responsible for fees related to attaining their certification. After one year of working for Campus Recreation, we will reimburse you half the cost of your certification.
